The whats, whys, benefits and needs of Belly Dancing
BELLY DANCING: Is considered to be one of the world’s oldest forms of dance with its roots going back before the time of the Pharaohs. Originating from the temples of ancient Egypt, then with the caliphs it has developed and changed until we arrived at its present social and entertainment form seen today.
CLASSES DEDICATED TO: girls, youths and adults interested in embracing oneself with the possibility for physical development, and with the internal massage of vital points giving one an activity which is not only energetic but also creative.
It does not require any previous experience and can be started at any age.
SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF BELLY DANCE:
Accentuates the female personality.
Gives one the possibility to learn about music and stimulates our ears to different rhythms.
Brings us closer to, and teaches us about another culture.
It teachers us; like all dance, how to use space, by using what one has learnt and ones own personality.
Giving us movement, which is elegant, energetic and enjoyable.
Toning, flexing and defining our muscularity, and is one of the few dances that exercises virtually every part of our body.
Shaping our hips and waist.
AIMS:To learn the basics of this dance form, and as dancers be aware how to develop and bring out ones femininity through ones movements, and also at the same time respecting the basic principles of corporal dance, such as balance, good body position, the shifting of weight from foot to foot, and to be able to do all this in an expressive and relaxed manner.
Paying attention to each ones personal possibilities as every woman is different. The key beginning that everyone develops towards their own goals, using what abilities one has.
The understanding some of the basics different rhythms.
Managing the different objects, which can be used in belly dancing.
CLOTHING
A tight top, loose dress or comfortable trousers, large flexible belt or shawl.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
We all have things that at times we like or don’t like about ourselves, and which we would rather not show. Henceforth, in my classes no one need show anything that they do not want to show, as this is part of our self-respect and harmony. Therefore, my invitation is that we work together so that we can improve both the things that we like and don’t like about ourselves, and there is no need to discuss any of these likes or dislike, but with ones own energy and effort we can perhaps change things.
Girls Class
Gracefull and fun class the work with the children will be playful as this is a natural part of their nature at this age, but there will be an emphasis on working with their corporal positions . As this will benefit them in many aspects for all there lives.
We will be working on how to use space, tempo, rhythm and the basics steps of this dance.
A class graceful, fun and for girls, for ages 7 to 11.
